As part of Google’s drive to provide relevant and useful local information to users, Google is working hard to improve the quality of Google maps for Nigeria. One of the ways in which this is done is by hosting MapUps in which communities come together voluntarily to map their respective communities using Google Map maker. MapUps are held globally and have significantly contributed to Google Maps data seen by millions of users all over the world.

A MapUp event for NYSC is scheduled for 30th May 2012. It is an opportunity for the NYSC community to volunteer to improve the quality maps for Nigeria which is well in line with the 8th MDG goal of developing global partnership for development.
